Rooted In An Ancient Future Story

Kaleo is rooted in the ancient Christian faith and practice expressed in the early creeds of the Church, such as The Apostle's Creed, which serves as our orienting statement of faith.

"I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of the saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen."

Our Mission

Kaleo is a Jesus shaped community learning to embody his mission of love and redemption in our neighborhoods, networks and world.

Our Values

Simple
We are intentionally simple in structure and practice as a life giving alternative to the debilitating effects of busyness, clutter and excess, and as a means of creating the space and time necessary to participate in God’s mission.

Open
We are an open community that extends hospitality to everyone because of our common identity as image bearers of God, due to the hospitality we have received from God.

Story Formed
We give ourselves to being formed by the biblical story in which we meet and are invited to follow the hero, Jesus the liberating King, and are equipped to live like him.

Collaborative
In response to the biblical story, the example of Jesus and His Church, we facilitate a collaborative rather than individualistic approach to life.

Participatory
We are committed to helping people discover, develop and deploy their unique skills, abilities and gifts.

Missional
We are a community sent into our neighborhoods, networks and world, as partners in Christ’s restorative work.
